Earthquake Survival Kit

August 17, 2019

Growing up in Los Angeles, and having experienced the Northridge earthquake in ’94, I have first-hand experience on what to expect when the unexpected happens. Recently, I wanted to update my Earthquake Survival Kit. I went on Amazon to see what they had in store. Needless to say, I was not impressed with their selection, it really seemed like a Fisher Price Kids version of what I was expecting an Earthquake Survival Kit to be.

The price of the kits also lead me to believe you could build out your own pack at a lesser price while surpassing the quality of the products included in a generic kit.

Even if you don’t live in Earthquake country, this is a nice kit to build out when encountering natural disasters, civil unrest and generally being prepared.

Keep in mind there will be some supplies in the kit you’ll have to periodically update or replenish as they’ll expire, along with maintaining batteries and making sure things stay in good working order.

With that said, let’s jump into the specifics!
